Hey guys, I am a noob at this but I wanted to warn you guys. I have been doing thi s since I first got my Mogul. Somehow using it like this will disable your connection. Three times already I have lost the ability to connect to the Sprint power Vision network. The only fix is factory resetting your device. I tried all of Sprint's advice which is mostly pulling the battery out, resetting passwords etc. I even tried some tricks of my own.I am not sure if they are aware that I was using my phone as a thet modem but it sure seems like they have something in place to stop you.

On PPCgeek or PDAphone, user reported that make sure you always manually disconnect before you close the program then you shouldn't have this issue. I am assuming you are talking about ERROR 67.

I've connected my mogul the way that I'm supposed to for tethering, but I get an RNDIS driver missing message in VISTA. It can't find the driver and it will not connect my laptop to the phone. Does anyone have this problem and know how to fix? Thx

Also, i just got my sprint bill, and i want to verify that i did not get charged for tethering by using the Internet Sharing program. My download activity was mainly just downloading youtube clips, surfing the web, and a few songs here and there. I did not use any p2p networks or torrents. On average I would say I downloaded around 150 mb to 200 mb for the whole month

I tried this last night for a short time just checking my email. Today my phone was unable to connect. I spent 3 hours on the phone with CS four people. I got error 67 and one call 1012. They made me hard reset my phone for no reason. It appears my vision password "somehow" was changed. I'm almost sure this is because they knew I was tethering????????

It's my understanding that springing for the (almost free, seriously, it's only $34) PDANet will insulate one from getting nailed with charges from Sprint for using their phone as a data connection.
I've just downloaded PDANet, and ya know, even if that isn't the case, I'm much happier being a no-brainer one click away from tethering than having to goof around with ICS. I don't know about you guys but $34 is a pretty low price to pay for a) reduced risk of charges and b) stupid simple tethering.
Can someone speak to my first statement, that using PDANet insulates one from getting charged the $30/month or whatever for tethering?

If you want to play safe PDANet is the solution.
