This totally cool app "wmwifirouter" allows the mogul to create a "hot spot" that routes wifi (from other devices) onto the EVDO network.

Jaslo,
Have you actually installed and run this? I want to try it but am paranoid it will screw up my "regular" internet sharing via USB or Bluetooth PAN.
If anyone has successfully used this app and then went back to USB / Bluetooth let me know. This would be a very useful app for me as long as I can revert back as needed. Also, how about a step by step setup posting?

Yesterday, I was looking for an application that did exactly this. The only problem I see is that it doesn't turn on the ICS DHCP server on the phone, so right now the IP address settings have to be configured manually. No big deal in the short term, but hopefully they add that functionality at a later time.

I got the application installed this afternoon and verified that it does indeed turn on the DHCP server... Awesome!
One thing I did notice is that when I start the program on the Mogul, it does state that it is connecting "Phone as Modem." However I checked my online bill about 6 hours later and it has indeed updated (text messages/data transfer), but it doesn't state any additional charge for "Phone as Modem."
Hopefully it stays that way :-)

Just checking on a follow up. Were you ever charged for phone as a modem?

I spoke to a sprint rep in their tech dept and was told the the "unlimited" data is not unlimited. It tops out but she was not sure at how many kb's. She said it could never be reached by only phone data use. If you use a computer you will excede the limit and be charged .03 kb. Has anyone else been told this or tried it and seen something different on their bill?

yeah... bullcrap. If I get "unlimited" data and then I hit the limit and start getting charged? NOT!
They will cut you off if you use a large ammount of data.
I've been using WMWifiRouter for a while now. While not perfect yet, it works good!

I told the rep "unlimited" is unlimited. Do you know what the difference in the sprint system is between using phone as a modem and using wmwifirouter? I used it last night and the rep said there was no additional charge for usage for last night. It must work differently than phone as a modem?

Wow, this is maybe the best app ever. Period. (even my period has its own period.)
