As a soon to be former Verizon customer, they have a number to call that will upgrade your phone's roaming capabilities..... *228.
Is there anything similiar with Sprint?
Somehow I'm roaming in the bathroom at work ...
wow that sounded wierd .....

I've always just called *2 for Customer Care and ask a representative to setup a PRL (Preferred Roaming List) update for my phone number. Once that is done, just call *2 again and it will automatically download the update.

What is this PRL? Why would we use it or need it?

PRL = Preferred Roaming List. It's what Sprint uses to determine which roaming partners exist when you roam. It's generally a good idea to be up to date so in case you are in need to roam, you can.
