These are the POP3 Gmail server settings.

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - requires SSL: pop.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 995
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
Port: 465 or 587
Account Name: your Gmail username (including @gmail.com)
Email Address: your full Gmail email address (username@gmail.com)
Password: your Gmail password

Remember  to turn on "Automatic Send/Receive" in your Mogul.

just a guest, have you tried enable poping on your gmail account? also try using the recent command by putting your username as recent:username@gmail.com. I've noticed w/o that recent command it'll delete my previously downloaded emails

I'd recommend not using the POP client.  The greatness of Gmail is in the way it handles threads and doing the POP thing forces you into using the cruddy old Outlook paradigm.

I instead use an RSS aggregator, Ilium Newsbreak (it was like $20 or something).  It will handle your Gmail account nicely and provides a decent message preview.   If you want to read the full message/thread, you'll do that via Explorer.   The Gmail site works great for a mobile and you can customize it to show as many or as few message handling and labeling options as you like.

There is a JAVA enabled Gmail application at www.gmail.com/app you must visit the site from your Mogul and download the software.  However, when I tried installing it, it says it doesn't work for Mogul's.  Did anyone else get this message or is it just me?

You need the Midlet Manager installed before the gmail application will run. You can find this in the Download section.

I use the gmail app with Intent Midlet manager and it's great.
