Hey folks

I just got the above-referenced case for my mogul, from:

http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=797

I have only had it for about an hour, but thought I would offer my initial impressions of the case.

This case comes in two pieces and each snaps on to the phone, leaving cutout areas to enable access to your buttons, jog wheel, camera lens, etc.  The fit is nearly perfect and leaves plenty of room to get at what you need.  The camera button is somewhat more difficult to get to than the other buttons, but I consider this a plus as I have already activated the camera function in my pocket more than once.  It will also be nearly impossible to accidentally knock out the microSD card with this case on.

Looks: this thing is just plain sexy.  The matte black with the charcoal and chrome accents is a great look.  It looks rugged but refined, professional and ready to go.

Texture: I was concerned that the "rubberized" factor would make the device difficult to get in and out of my pocket, but this is not the case.  It's tacky when it needs to be, like when it's on my dashboard and not sliding out the window, but feels silky and erotic to the touch.  It slides in and out of my pocket with no resistance, and doesn't bring any lint along when it comes back out.

Protection level: seems great.  I'm not going to try dropping my mogul to test it out, but it seems like the case will shield the screen and buttons well from a fall or other damage, and I feel much better having it on there.

Only negative: having the case on takes away some of the "snappiness" of the keyboard slider.  It still opens and closes with ease, but the satisfying "click" of closing is slightly muffled.  No biggie.

Price paid: $29.95 + $6.95 S+H.  Arrived in 3 days.

Value for price: Very good.  I know it's just 2 molded pieces of plastic, but I think it's worth it, both in terms of looks and protection.

Wish i had this the first week I got my phone, I remember the day clearly, I was walking and texting, when these hoodlums bump into me and my hand trembles, causing my phone to fall onto the concrete, the battery came out and now it looks like wolverine slashed the top right hand corner of my phone, (Really all the scratches are parallel to each other)

GREAT REVIEW! i think im gonna go ahead and get that case now. quick question though. Will the mogul with this case still fit in the oem case that the phone came with? i realy like the case the phone came with because it securely fits on my belt and leaves room in my pocket for otehr things.

thanks in advance, mark

cool, thanks... just bought one!

It's better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it.

It fits into the OEM case, but just barely.  It takes a bit of effort to remove it from the case once this is in there.

thanks for the helpful review.

i have been looking for something that would not make this device all bulked up and this seems to be a good solution.

i just ordered the slim rubber case and holster combo for $49.95 + $6.95 shipping.

Sounds like a great case, but I didn't hear any mention of screen protection. Does it bring any?

i'm wondering the same.

there are a couple types of black aluminum cases floating around out there (with screen protection) but they don't seem very keyboard friendly.  Is anyone using one of these?  I'd be interested in hearing what they think of it.

i'm thinking about using this rubberized case in addition to an adhesive screen protector.
